with the collaboration of :

Club VE de Monaco (AMAVE),

e'mobile (CH),

ECS (CH)

and of participating cities, the address of which will be given later after confirmation of the participation agreement.

A coordination will be organized :

from MONTE-CARLO to MENDRISIO

from MENDRISIO to STRASBOURG

from STRASBOURG to HANOVER

from BRUXELLES to STRASBOURG

from PARIS to STRASBOURG

from LA ROCHELLE ( BORDEAUX ) to STRASBOURG

by specialized teams for each route and representative of the crossed regions.

A general coordination will of course be provided.

In 2001, on the occasion of EVS-18 in Berlin, the 3rd Transeuropean will be organized with a similar route structure and will arrive at Berlin.

4. ACTIVITIES IN THE CITIES

The main aim of the Transeuropean is to demonstrate the use of electric and hybrid vehicles in urban and suburban areas and above all to demonstrate the efficiency of and the need for batteries charging infrastructures.

In order to reach this aim, following activities are foreseen.

Information sessions on charging infrastructures and their demonstration will be organized by Citelec and AVERE in collaboration with the cities and associations collaborating to the Transeuropean.

Moreover, the following contributions are asked from participating cities:

Organize the arrival and departure of vehicles: arrival place, connection to the electric network, watched secure night parking

Organize a small event aiming at "showing" townspeople EVs in use (parade, media coverage of the arrival, etc.)

Organize the night charge of EVs (closed space, electric plugs, counters)

Book rooms for drivers (max. price from 60 to 70 Euro, the number of rooms and details will be transmitted as soon as possible).

Take part in the organization of the next stage and set contacts with the next stage city. Organize the reception of participants with an informal and friendly meal.

Organize the information delivered to regional media. Foresee a souvenir for participating teams.

5. PREPARATIONS OF FUTURES ACTIONS

CITELEC and AVERE will propose cities to examine the possibility to organize actions and surveys in order to promote the introduction of electric and hybrid vehicles (waterborne transportation included) through European, national or regional programs. These associations will provide their services and experience to fulfill these aims.

6. PARTICIPANTS

All member cities of CITELEC, AVERE and the CO-organizers are strongly invited to participate. The members representatives will inform possible participants of their city (clubs, associations or local collectivizes interested by EVs).

The vehicle has to cover the whole traject. This means that the driving teams may change whenever desired as long as the change occurs in a stage city and that the organizers are informed at registration time in order to make the necessary reservations.

The number will have to be displayed on the doors; other places will be foreseen for the promotion of EVS-18, of CITELEC, of AVERE and of others CO-organizing associations. Space may be used for sponsors. The name of the origin city (as participant) will have to be clearly recognizable.

All electric vehicles, even equipped with range extender may be used if they fulfill the prerequisite standard for Daily Use Vehicles (i.e. vehicles admitted for road traffic). The same is valid for hybrid electric vehicles. The minimum registration number necessary to organize the Transeuropean will amount to fifteen vehicles (15). Registration fee amounts to 150 Euro (administration cost).

7. DISSEMINATION OF THE INFORMATION

The Transeuropean will be covered daily by media and the web sites of all organizers and sponsors will be updated daily.

8. DATES

Acknowledgment of participants of the vehicles and acceptation of cities to work as start (end) of a stage should be confirmed one month after receipt of this document and at the latest by 15th May 2000.

NOTES OF THE ORGANIZERS

All these regulations are complementary to the CITELEC document :

"TRANSEUROPEAN - REGULATIONS" of 1998 on registration, tests, classification, penalties, controls, timetables.

This CITELEC regulation will be adapted if needed by the new route structure to ensure an equal treatment of all participants.
